             Water management is an important factor for the university. Kasetsart University has many campaigns on projects or activities of energy conservation, water management in the workplace, the operation of underground water storage ponds, wastewater treatment, recycling water, the use of energy saving equipment; these campaigns are meant to promote and support both students, personnel in the organization to have the attitude of conserving energy as well as participating in the activities to change the old behaviors such as stop wasting the energy, and reduction of the use of natural resources in the wrong way.

             Kasetsart University has appointed of the Board of Directors for Energy Management, to deciding the Policy Formulation, Implementation Plan and the University’s energy conservation guidelines

Energy-saving campaign / Sports Personnel Program for health

Water-saving campaign and toilet paper reduction program

 

              To reduce using water in toilet by filling water in 2 bottles water, placing the water bottles in the water tank at the back of the toilet. This method is not to obstruct the entrance of the water. Then close the rear tank lid. Try Pressing the toilet flush as usual. The water can be saved about 3 litres per each.

              Water Management Project by controlling weed around the surrounding areas which helps tobalance the water conservation and doesn’t cause sewage in the canal and wastewater treatment.

            Water Management Project can solve drainage clogs, clean up pipes / canals, and improve a drainage system for flood management

           To check the 150-horsepower pump system for life long service and to prevent repairiug frequently. All pumps should have the records of the maintenance in using and timetables for a punctual monitoring and maintenance.

Underground water storage tanks

              Ngamwongwan parking lot 2 is equipped with underground water storage tanks in order to prevent potential land subsidence with the space saving and stable water temperature.

Building ponds / lakes for keeping water

           Kasetsart University Kamphaengsaen Campus builds the 7 wells of ponds and lakes for keeping water to use. Wells in the area are approximately 416 rai. One well in 130 rai can produce for tap water of 48,000 cubic meters / year.

Well No. 1 in 150 rai can produce tap water of 48,000 cubic meters / year.

              Kasetsart University Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus has 7 water reservoirs including Kalasin Reservoir, Nakhon Phanom Reservoir, Mukdahan Reservoir, Sakon Nakhon Reservoir, Nong Khai Reservoir and Udon Thani Reservoir. Total 1,400,000 cubic meters of water are collected from each reservoir for using in agricultural research areas .

— To install water pumps by using sprinklers within the wastewater treatment ponds for watering the lawn.

— To use water from natural ponds, for watering trees to replace tap water

Water Recycling System in Tilapia Hatchery

              Water Recycling System in Tilapia Hatchery. The water is used to hatch the fish that is supplied with flowing water all the time. The water from the hatching tubes will flow into the support tray before flowing into the PVC pipe and circulating through the hose to return to the top of the hatching tubes. With this system of rotation can reduce the amount of water needed each day. The amount of water need to be added each day is about 2% of the total system water is about 20 liters.

             Kasetsart University uses electrical equipment efficiently, can reduce water consumption more than 75%.Kasetsart University has been using the electrical equipment efficiently which can reduce water consumption more than 75 percentIntroduction of sanitary wares can save a lot of water based on the principle of using water instead of old water to purify. This way use less water and wash quickly. The push button is located on the top of the water tank with two buttons, which can save up to 3 liters of water

               Introduction of automatic stop system for wash basins and toilet stalls for men by pressing the button when it is used. The water flow will stop automatically

The sensor system can detect the on / off motion of the lights and the fans automatically

Sink sensor system, water will flow and stop automatically as soon as when the hands pull in/cut.

             The sensor system of the men’s sanitary ware will run the water when standing, if the user leaves stands, the water will stop flowing immediately.

Water and Wastewater Measurement

The result of the water that was measured before released outside Kamphaeng Saen Campus.

             The course subject “Knowledge of the Land” is intended to create pride and good sense of Thailand of Kasetsart University which plays a role in Thai society and the world as an institution of higher education, reflecting its identity “To build the science of the land.” In addition, it aims to strengthen and develop students as good people with skills in learning and working within the framework of the university’s identity in order to qualify for citizenship of the nation and citizenship of the world. Course content is related to the identity of Kasetsart University, Knowledge of the land, learning the recognition of Thai Citizenship and World Citizenship, strengthening and developing skills in learning and working towards goals in the context of good self-reliance.

              Kasetsart University’s administrators, lecturers, personnel and students together planted 6 Yellow Star trees or  Schoutenia glomerata King subsp.peregrina (Craib) Roekm to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 66 th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun  of the Kingdom of Thailand, on Thursday, 26 July 2018 in front of the Xuchati Kambhu building, Kamphaeng Saen Campus.

                KU Big Cleaning & Planting Day of Kasetsart University raises awareness and harmony of the University’s staff and students to keep buildings and places clean. Include tree planting and caring inside the campuses. This activity is under the green campus project KU GREEN CAMPUS aiming to increase greenery, beautiful and clean environment of Kasetsart University

‘KU Big Cleaning & Planting Day 2018’ on Friday, 4 May 2018 at Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus

             Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wilaisak Kingkham, Vice President for Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus, together with Assistant to the Presidents of Kasetsart University planted 9 Sala trees (Shorea robusta roxb) at Thin Man Nai Buddha Dhamma building on 23 September 2018.

             Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus joined with farmers in Sakon Nakhon province in the activity on ‘United Harvest Day’ on 19 April 2018. Deputy Commanding General, 29th  Military Circle; administrators and staff of Kasetsart University; administrators and staff of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives; high rank officials of Sakon Nakhon province city hall; and students from University of Bordeaux, France joined the activity at Nong Han Chalermphakiat Park.

             Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trin Saengsuwan, Vice President for Kamphaeng Saen Campus received a plaque of achievement on KU Eco Green Campus project.

The project is registered as one of Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program or T-VER. Owing to Kamphaeng Saen Campus separated area of 235.77 rai within the campus into 3 zones for difference purposes as follows:

Zone 1 – 100 rai of forest area

Zone 2 – forest area

Zone 3 –Yangna tree ( Dipterocarpus alatus Roxb.) planting area

                Kamphaeng Saen Campus organised a training program on earthworm farming for senior person. The training is under capacity building program for food security of senior farmers from senior clubs in Bang Len and Tung Krapung Home, Nakhon Pathom Province.

             The Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen displayed a moulding machine for food container made from banana leaf at the BIOFACH Southeast Asia- the biggest showcase on organic agriculture and nature in Southeast Asia region at IMPACT Arena and IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani between 12-15 July 2018.

             Kamphaeng Saen Campus has accumulated knowledge of research for almost 10 years. Many research products, under the brand ‘KU’, have been produced i.e. pasteurized goat milk, goat milk ice cream, goat milk yogurt, goat milk powder, stewed goat meat with Chinese herb, partridge egg tofu, and ‘KU More’- a prototype store. Academic services are also provided such as  training on food safety standard production; carcass cutting for value add; quality product measurement; and meat, milk, egg product processing to those who interested to bring knowledge to commercial.

             A training on using of water resources for sustainable shrimp aquaculture was organised for 19 farmers from Kamphaeng Saen District on 25 July 2018.

              The Office of Extension and Training at Kamphaeng Saen organized agricultural flea market on every first Saturday of month. A training on extra professional skill are provided so as to farmers be able to increase income. In addition, organic agricultural products and healthy food are on sale as well.

              A training course on Community Marketers was organized for 43 farmers from Bang Pla Subdistrict,  Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province on August 10 and 14, 2018. They were interested in production and marketing of Gor Kor 43 rice varieties.
